I wanted to go to the Wall, stupid. I don't care about devices. I only want to know where the docks are. And where Saltpans went.

[There's a slight pause, after which the girl speaking only sounds more agitated.] How can I ask this to explain? It doesn't know anything. You don't, either, if you think this can talk to me. I'll find someone else if you're too stupid to help me. I bet you don't even know what direction north is.

I thought it was a dream at first, but everybody says it's this place's gods. I don't know if they're really gods at all, though. They don't protect people or give them strength or anything.
